ABOUT ANNI

Anni Finsterer is an actor, playwright, director and producer with a diverse career spanning film, television, and theatre. In film, Anni has performed in notable works such as Sweet Country (2017), Lonesome (2021) and I Met a Girl (2020). Her portrayal in 3 Acts of Murder earned her the Australian Film Institute Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Drama in 2009.​

Anni has worked across various television genres including appearances in Wentworth (2013), Return to Paradise (2024), and The Gloaming (2020).
​
Her theatre career is extensive and spans both independent and mainstream theatre, including collaborations with American Drama Group Europe, Sydney Theatre Company and Bell Shakespeare.

Anni is currently in development as Writer / Director of One Last Date Before I Die, a one-woman black comedy ​exploring the complexities of human connection later in life. (Developed through bAKEHOUSE KXT Vault as part of their Residency program under the title The One.)

Anni is the author of Radical Rock and Roll Resilience: How to Get Up, Get Real & Totally Rock Your Life, where she shares her personal experiences and insights on overcoming adversity, reflecting her dedication to empowering others. As a motivational speaker and facilitator in the Learning and Development space, she specialises in Potential Realization and Communication, most recently working with the Institute for Communication, Management, and Leadership (ICML).

Her journey with resilience began as a girl, when she faced the immense challenge of recovery after surviving two car accidents.​ In the first, she sustained severe facial injuries a doctor described as “Smiths Crisps under a boot.”
​
In the second, fatal accident, Anni sustained severe external injuries, undergoing over 30 reconstructive procedures. Still, she persevered with her acting career, going on to make 35 stage debuts and, in 2009, took home the AFI Award for Best Supporting Actress - an achievement that once seemed impossible.
